Think green means boring? Think again!

V&A Waterfront’s new foodie gem, Pure Good Café, is serving sustainability with style. Located on Marina Road, right next to Africa Padel, the café keeps things thoughtful and conscious.

Over 98% of Pure Good Café is made from salvaged treasures, from a mosaic counter created with broken ceramics courtesy of local legend Mervin Gers, to stylish furniture created from office waste. The plants, rescued from Plantify, would have been discarded otherwise.

Other thoughtful touches include floorboards reclaimed from the Old Clock Tower, an outdoor deck made from salvaged wood from Quay Four, and crockery sourced from Mervin Gers’ factory seconds. ...

Founded in 2013 by Valentino Barrioseta and Thulani Headman, the organisation has welcomed the support and visits of global music icons, including Ed Sheeran, Skrillex, Msaki, and Zakes Bantwini. Their belief in the power of music as a force for good fuels the academy’s mission: changing lives through creative education. 💡

Visitors can also get in on the action through curated tours and experiences. From hands-on Afrohouse & Amapiano DJing and dance workshops, traditional AmaGwijo and drumming and a guided Langa Heritage Tour, these experiences are tailored to individual or group interests. 🥁💃
